Well Mamas, I did it! I lost 30 pounds since February and had to share my progress since so many of you have seen the changes that I have been making this year and have been so sweet to always ask me how it’s going.
Let me first back up a second to February 2024, that was the turning point where I decided that something had to change and knew I was the only one that had the power to do just that. No more excuses, no more blaming my aging perimenopausal metabolism. I really started to feel uncomfortable in my own skin and it was starting to take a toll. I was barely walking 4,000 steps a day, not exercising at all and eating a lot of junk. The scale was slowly inching upwards and my clothes were so tight I was running out of things to wear. I was not happy with myself or my appearance and feeling very defeated. Not to mention, I knew I was turning 50 soon and SOMETHING had to change. I decided that I had enough and to take control of my health and fight for how I wanted to feel everyday.
It certainly wasn’t easy and I felt discouraged at times but here is what I did to finally lose 30 pounds in 8 months. I now feel better at 50 than I did at 30
Walk 10K Steps a Day
Regular physical activity boosts mood and increases your energy level. It’s so easy to incorporate walking into your daily routine. My family laughs at me as I do laps around our kitchen island at night to get in those final steps but it works, trust me!
Decease Sugar & Increase Protein
I cut out sugar and increased my protein which helps maintain muscle mass and boosts natural energy levels.
I religiously do 50 sit-ups a night before bed, regardless of how tired I feel.
After 8 months of doing 50 daily sit ups, my belly has disappeared! It’s a small change but over time has made a BIG impact.
Strength Training
Strength training builds muscle which helps burn calories, even at rest. As we age, we lose muscle so we need to build it back up again.
Half way through my weight loss journey, I discovered the power of adding natural supplements to my daily routine to support my weight loss, hormone health, cortisol levels and appetite management. I also learned how adding all natural ingredients like Inulin, Acacia Fiber and Tea Leaf extracts helped me to lose those last 5-10 pounds. That was probably the biggest surprise to me over any of the other changes that I have made. So I decided to look into these ingredients even more and came across an amazing company called Beneve after several weeks of research. I have been drinking their Watermelon Berry Cortisol Cocktail Xcelerate and am amazed at the results that I am experiencing, not to mention that it tastes delicious. My appetite is under control and I have the natural energy to tackle my day. I am not a health professional by any means, just a busy midlife mom who was struggling with their health and finally found something that works and couldn’t keep it to myself any longer. So I decided to come out of retirement since 2020 and join Beneve and provide all of you with their amazing health supplements. I can’t wait to help other Mom’s who are also struggling like I did to finally feel better once and for all.
Seeing the change side by side is still crazy to me. The first photo was from late 2023, the second from a few weeks ago. My face is less puffy and inflamed. I am a happier Mom and have so much more energy to Uber my kids from one activity to the next. I look forward to sharing more with you and appreciate all of your support and encouragement over these last few months, it means the world to me .
XOXO,
Karen
